North Sea Blues
After the succes of Riley `Blues Boy` at the 1982 North sea jazz Festival, many Dutch fans of the King (born in Indianola on 16th Spetember 1925) will be delighted to find him back in The Hague. B.B.King taught himself to play guitar around 1940. He sang in gospel groups and amateur shows, and earnt a few dollars playing blues in small cafés. His recording carreer began in 1949. he worked with Sonny Boys Williamson and gradually Blues Boy started to make his name. In 1967 he played at the Monterey Jazz Festival. He began to win polls, appeared on TV – in short , B.B.King arrived, receiving his Grammy Award and his Hits (Lucille, Everyday I have the Blues, The Thrill is gone…) . A performance by B.B.King is something everyone must experience at least once in their lives!
